"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." - Groucho Marx

vegas for the afternoon

two blogs in one day, i know. actually two blogs within like the same ten minutes haha anyways... lately, ive had the opportunity to talk to friends from svu and it has been the biggest breath of fresh air :) that is definitely the downside to having gone to school across the country. everyone is from everywhere in the US and i miss them all. especially the people i was closest with of course. so on saturday i got a surprising text from dallin l. that said him, mark and two friends they were picking up from the airport were going to be in vegas for the afternoon on sunday. so of course i went and met up with them. it was the funnest couple of hours i've had in a long time! :) and that was even despite the walking around for about five hours, tired feet, blazing heat, and my excessive sweating. i know, attractive. me and dallin caught up even though i guess there wasn't much to catch up on because it was like we were never apart. i'm pretty sure we laughed the entire time. so i'm apologizing to his friends that won't see this, for laughing so loud. but when i told dallin that i tried to be tame even though i was with him, he told me i did fine and he had seen me MUCH crazier. haha love that boy. and all the great people that i met as svu. i was talking to paulina and no matter who you were. there was someone to be friends with. and even the people you didn't get along with had friends that they are close with. so yes, maybe svu was a handful and it didn't work out for me. but i am so grateful for the opportunity to spend the little time i did there because i am now friends with some of the greatest people i've ever met :)

  1. ELAINA!!! i've had an incredibly SVU-filled couple weeks, as well. and there's not a day that goes by that i don't think about going back and having all the same people there and approaching everyone with nothing but respect. i met the best people i know there and i didn't know it until i left. and even still, i wish i was friends with more people. one day, it will all come together though, right? :) i loved reading this!
